Successfully grow your MLM Business

The end of Thanksgiving weekend is here in the U.S. and I find myself continually giving thanks for all the mentors I have had over the years in this business. As I have shared with my team and they share with theirs, this business is all about building relationships and helping connect people with their dreams. If I can make it easier for people by saving them some of the heart ache as well as money, then I am successful in returning some of the same that has been offered to me. Network Marketing is a fantastic business with integrity as long as the people in it hold that integrity while building their business. This is something I will always hold true to. It is unfortunate that there are many people out there that have given this business a bad reputation.

Here is where I will begin on this blog entry, giving you some advice on how to build your successful network marketing business. My blog is to give useful information on business as well as an occasional tid-bit on health. Besides, a healthy business can make for a healthier you.

There are a few basic but critical things that you will need in order to grow your network marketing business.

To truly build and achieve your ultimate goal in your business of having passive residual income, you need to have the following:

1. An easy and duplicate-able system

2. Targeted lead generation

3. Automated prospect follow-up

4. One-on-one relationship building

5. Sponsoring and

6. Training

If you have a single system to perform all these functions, the better. If your MLM company or upline group does not provide system(s) to accomplish these targets, you absolutely have to set them up yourself. But it’s a lot easier to go someplace where they understand these MLM sponsoring secrets and already have an established, tested & proven system.

Let me tell you about each aspect of the sponsoring system that I use.

1. An easy and duplicate-able system is one that the person can see them-self doing. Be sure to keep explanations and presentations simple. Your prospect must be able to see how easy it is to be successful.

2. Targeted lead generation. Why would you want to build the dream for somebody else? How do you think you’re ever going to make somebody have a dream? You only want to talk to people who have a desire to be successful and ALREADY have the dream.

Don’t put yourself in the position where you have to spend your time convincing somebody to get up off the couch to work towards their dreams. Leave those people alone, they will drain you. We need people in our lives that are looking for the doorway to success, rather than a life of excuses not to be successful.

Talk with people that have the desire for more in their life. These are the successes that are just waiting to be found. These are the people who will build the business, no matter what. Target THOSE people. Then your business will be exciting,fun & rewarding. This will lead to massive duplication when you work with targeted people.

How do you find them?

You want a system that generates leads which brings you ONLY the most qualified people. A lead who is dedicated to their success is far more likely to build long-term network marketing success than most other leads you get. That is who you must target.

How? You promote a your website that has only one objective: to capture contact information. When a somebody enters your site, their only option to get more information is to sign up. Here is where you must give value to your information and do your best to make an offer they cannot refuse. Leaders are Readers.

3. Automated prospect follow-up. The secret in network marketing is following up with people. People's lives are busy as are our own. It’s best to have an automated email system going out to these prospects. You need one written by a professional copywriter who knows how to tweak the mind, answer questions, create a relationship in print. It’s mandatory that you have a system in place to follow-up with people automatically, so you don’t have to do it. Because guess what?

You might be on a Caribbean cruise vacation, or a company-sponsored, company paid-for, week-long trip to Greece...get the picture?! You need an automated follow-up system or you will miss an opportunity and your prospect loses their interest and trust in you. Trust is a simple building block.

But that should not be assumed to replace the next most important key in building your business:

4. One-on-one relationship building: your most important MLM sponsoring secret. Network marketing is a relationship business. As mentioned above, trust is a simple building block in a relationship, and without it you have nothing. As a leader, your followers must trust you. You want to sponsor them one at a time and bring them in one at a time.

The only way you can do that is to build a one-on-one relationship with those people.

I’ve seen organizations come online and they sponsor and recruit, using some downline building system and stop there. They do not take the time to build the one on one relationship that everybody needs in order to trust one another and be successful. None of those people ever succeed or upgrade, none of those people ever buy product, because there’s no relationship. If you ever tried to call one of those upline, sponsoring individuals and say, “Hey, I’d like to talk with you, when can we get together -”, they won’t even return a phone call. These people are all about the numbers instead of the basics of this business, relationships.

As you can see, it’s most important to have relationships when you’re building the business. People must be able to sense and know that you care.

This step is crucial, so we’re constantly training people to do it. I have a friend that does a live, generic MLM “relationship-building” training call 5 nights a week. No company is EVER mentioned on these calls. No products are EVER discussed.

A lead may already be in a business but that is ok. Three out of ten people will be looking for an opportunity now or soon, and another three will change companies in the future. All you need to do is give without want, direct them to the training they need, and support them.

When the time comes that it is right for them, they will ask you about your business.

And I promise you, if you build people, then people will build your business.

5. Sponsoring. I love that word, “sponsoring.” I take that word differently than most people. Why?

Because I take YOUR success personally. It is my goal to sponsor successful business partners...meaning everybody that I sponsor will be successful.

When I’m your sponsor, I’m your sponsor for life. If I’m your sponsor, that is the way it is. You & I will be in business together the rest of our lives. You are in business for yourself, not by yourself. Do you see why relationship building is important now?

So wouldn’t you rather sponsor people that you want to associate with? My mentor told me, “Only sponsor people that you’d want to be in business with and could spend a 1-month vacation with.”

Wow! How important is that? Don’t just sponsor somebody with smoke and mirrors. ONLY sponsor people who you really want to build a business with.

6. Training. Absolutely the lifeblood of your business is teaching, training, coaching & mentoring new people on how to do network marketing.

You’d better have a step-by-step Action Plan. You’ve got to train them. Be interested in their success and outline what it is they need to do to achieve their success.

They need to learn the skills of how to do MLM. That’s critical in the training process. You can train a dog. But for people, you have to teach them the skills they need to do this business. Remember to keep it simple. Everybody must be able to see themselves doing the same. Being duplicate-able is key in a successful MLM.

Ninety-two per-cent of the world’s population is sales resistant. They don’t like to sell, don’t like to be sold, but they sell everyday by recommending things they believe in. Don’t waste your time studying about the super-duper elixir drink or youthful skincare where the ingredients are unpronounceable or have to be scraped off the rock by blind leprechauns every other full moon that falls on a Tuesday. Don’t study the product ingredients, study the people.

You’ll learn how to listen to people, and discover what it is that these people really want in life. This is key to connecting people with their dreams. You will be in business, and people are your business. Learn this and you will own your life. You’ll learn how to talk to people so that they don’t put up walls immediately with you. Listen more than talk, the people will tell you what they want and it will be your job to show them how to get what they want. Again, building relationships.

You can just plug your people right into a training system, and the cycle begins again. DUPLICATE-ABLE, LEVERAGED and RESIDUAL.

This is what you call a successful and automatic working sales funnel. Step 1 flows smoothly into Step 2. Step 2 into Step 3. Step 3 into Step 4. Step 4 into Step 5. And step 5 into Step 6. Step 6 into Step 1.

And so on and so on.

The term successful and automatic working sales funnel means there are NO bumps along the way. Nothing whatsoever to even slightly slow the flow of a prospect from one step to the next. Every step of the way easily transitions into the next step.

To be long-term successful, you MUST have a successful marketing system for your opportunity. Soda, pop, cola, soft drink — whatever you call it, it is one of the worst beverages that you could be drinking for your health. As the debate for whether to put a tax on the sale of soft drinks continues, you should know how they affect your body so that you can make an informed choice on your own.

Soft drinks are hard on your health
Soft drinks contain little to no vitamins or other essential nutrients. However, it is what they do contain that is the problem: caffeine, carbonation, simple sugars — or worse, sugar substitutes — and often food additives such as artificial coloring, flavoring, and preservatives.

A lot of research has found that consumption of soft drinks in high quantity, especially by children, is responsible for many health problems that include tooth decay, nutritional depletion, obesity, type-2 diabetes, and heart disease.

Why the sugar in soft drinks isn’t so sweet
Most soft drinks contain a high amount of simple sugars. The USDA recommendation of sugar consumption for a 2,000-calorie diet is a daily allotment of 10 teaspoons of added sugars. Many soft drinks contain more than this amount!

Just why is too much sugar so unhealthy? Well, to start, let's talk about what happens to you as sugar enters your body. When you drink sodas that are packed with simple sugars, the pancreas is called upon to produce and release insulin, a hormone that empties the sugar in your blood stream into all the tissues and cells for usage. The result of overindulging in simple sugar is raised insulin levels. Raised blood insulin levels beyond the norm can lead to depression of the immune system, which in turn weakens your ability to fight disease.

Something else to consider is that most of the excess sugar ends up being stored as fat in your body, which results in weight gain and elevates risk for heart disease and cancer. One study found that when subjects were given refined sugar, their white blood cell count decreased significantly for several hours afterwards. Another study discovered that rats fed a high-sugar diet had a substantially elevated rate of breast cancer when compared to rats on a regular diet.

The health effects of diet soda
You may come to the conclusion that diet or sugar-free soda is a better choice. However, one study discovered that drinking one or more soft drinks a day — and it didn’t matter whether it was diet or regular — led to a 30% greater chance of weight gain around the belly.

Diet soda is filled with artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose, or saccharin. These artificial sweeteners pose a threat to your health. Saccharin, for instance, has been found to be carcinogenic, and studies have found that it produced bladder cancer in rats.

Aspartame, commonly known as nutrasweet, is a chemical that stimulates the brain to think the food is sweet. It breaks down into acpartic acid, phenylalanine, and methanol at a temperature of 86 degrees. (Remember, your stomach is somewhere around 98 degrees.) An article put out by the University of Texas found that aspartame has been linked to obesity. The process of stimulating the brain causes more cravings for sweets and leads to carbohydrate loading.

Carbonation depletes calcium
Beverages with bubbles contain phosphoric acid, which can severely deplete the blood calcium levels; calcium is a key component of the bone matrix. With less concentration of calcium over a long time, it can lower deposition rates so that bone mass and density suffer. This means that drinking sodas and carbonated water increases your risk of osteoporosis.

Add in the caffeine usually present in soft drinks, and you are in for even more trouble. Caffeine can deplete the body’s calcium, in addition to stimulating your central nervous system and contributing to stress, a racing mind, and insomnia.

Skip the soda and go for:

• Fresh water
Water is a vital beverage for good health. Each and every cell needs water to perform its essential functions. Since studies show that tap water is filled with contaminants, antibiotics, and a number of other unhealthy substances, consider investing in a quality carbon-based filter for your tap water. On the go? Try using a stainless steel thermos or glass bottle, filled with filtered water. Enhance the flavor of your water with a refreshing infusion of basil, mint leaves, and a drop of honey.

• Fruit Juice
If you are a juice drinker, try watering down your juice to cut back on the sugar content. Buy a jar of organic 100% juice, especially cranberry, acai, pomegranate, and then dilute three parts filtered water to one part juice. You will get a subtle sweet taste and the benefit of antioxidants. After a couple of weeks, you will no longer miss the sweetness of sugary concentrated juices.

• Tea
Tea gently lifts your energy and has numerous health benefits. Black, green, white, and oolong teas all contain antioxidant polyphenols. In fact, tea ranks as high or higher than many fruits and vegetables on the ORAC scale, the score that measures antioxidant potential of plant-based foods.

Herbal tea does not have the same antioxidant properties, though it is still a great beverage choice with other health benefits, such as inducing calming and relaxing effects.
